Why We Exist
Sometimes it’s a Poppy Fund check that keeps the heat running through a Maryland winter. Sometimes it’s one of our members sitting at a kitchen table, letting a veteran talk as long as he needs to. Sometimes it’s just a ride to the VA, because the car’s in the shop and pride won’t let him ask his kids. None of it makes the news. All of it is why Unit 202 exists.

Everything we do is volunteer-run and stays right here in Washington County — from emergency aid for a veteran in crisis to Memorial Day tributes and school flag-etiquette lessons.

Whether you’re a Legion family member, a neighbor, or a local business, there’s a place for you in what we do. We plan our programs around what Williamsport veterans and families actually need.
We work alongside American Legion Post 202, local schools, and Scout troops on flag-etiquette lessons, blood drives, and holiday care packages.
Lifelong Service
Members often stay involved for years — some for decades. New volunteers are paired with experienced members so nobody has to figure it out alone.
